Todd Fischer

Artist & Industrial Designer / Creative Director at The Hub

At an early age, both of my parents—artists in their own genres—encouraged me to explore art as a creative outlet. I quickly discovered a passion for watercolors and acrylics.

As a child, I began drawing cars, cartoons, and people surfing. I inherited my love for surfing from my father, who frequently appears in my early works. Today, my art often highlights my sons and grandsons, capturing the vibrancy of family and shared adventures.

My lifestyle and experiences, especially road trips in the van, have deeply influenced my work. I not only surf but also enjoy snow skiing, scuba diving, kayaking, mountain biking, and hiking. These activities, along with my connection to the Pacific Northwest, are central to my creative process.

The stories I tell through my art are shaped by my travels across Canada, Oregon, California, Texas, Hawaii, and Mexico. Each destination and adventure adds new layers of inspiration, helping me convey the beauty, energy, and essence of the world around me.

Over the years, my art has evolved into a distinct style. My interpretation of the trees, colorful sunrises, and vibrant sunsets has become a signature in my work, alongside my depictions of mountains, lakes, rivers, oceans, waves, and beaches.

As an artist, my goal is to visually capture a person's attention while honoring the beauty of nature. I hope my work conveys my deep respect and appreciation for the Pacific Northwest—my home and playground.

My paintings are designed to make people smile, laugh, and perhaps look a little closer. I often hide animals, cartoon characters, or figures within the trees and surf. Have you found any yet?

Growing up in the construction world, I also enjoy working with metals and wood. My custom frames showcase this connection, incorporating reclaimed materials and driftwood that I regularly seek out.

Thank you for letting me share my work with you. I hope my whimsical style brings you joy and inspires you to explore more while helping to preserve the treasures of the Pacific Northwest. My wish is for visitors and locals alike to embrace the experience of the PNW. Leave your cell phones at home—be present and listen to the heartbeat of nature.

I look forward to seeing you somewhere outdoors.
